1 1/2 teaspoon of almond extract (feel free to add a little more)
2/3 cups of milk
11/4 cups of flour
1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
8 tablespoons of butter (melted)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350o F
Beat sugar, egg, almond extract, and milk together (I used a hand mixer)
Add flour and baking powder
Then add melted butter
Grease the baking dish Personal note: The first time, I tried spraying it, but that didn’t work as well. The pan is already non-stick and it all slid to the bottom. All subsequent tries, I merely greased the pan using a stick of butter (well, more like a tablespoon, and it worked much better when it came time to take the cake out of the pan.)
Pour batter into the pan
Bake cake for 50 minutes (the last 2 times, I baked it for 45 minutes, and it seemed perfect)
Once done baking, allow to sit out and cool for at least 20 minutes I have started letting it set for about 45-60 minutes. It came out cleaner when I let it sit longer. Sometimes, I used a little rubber spatula to help ease it out for the couple places where it seemed to stick a little.
Feel free to dust with powder sugar before serving
